Nice house! I hope to one day build one myself. Currently Anyhow, I had a question about cutting off the railing of your flatbed. From my understanding this is structural, and that flatbeds that don’t have it are reinforced elsewhere. Have you looked into this? I wondered if the house itself would reinforce it?

@Micah, when you say structural which direction of stress are you thinking the side rails would support? They don’t do anything significant for a load pressing toward the earth. As far as I know, they’re just to keep things from falling off the sides. The load rests on the axles. When I had mine cut off, no one said anything about structural support.

Gary, I don’t know of anything in Fort Worth. If there’s a particular part of the process you’re unfamiliar with, there are resources online. There are a few different tiny house books. I found basic framing and wiring books pretty helpful. I got copies from the library but if you want your own you can get them at any home improvement store or amazon. I think Tumbleweed only comes through the state once or twice a year and it’s usually to Austin. Plus, they’re showing how to build their style of homes and they’re pretty pricey. My video course is intended to substitute for a workshop too.
